but you see my point about bait though, if you arent there solely for the sport.

and i see yours, for the same reason...
agree that baiting is a POV issue?

I used to go hunting with my grandpa only we used hunting bows. I gotta say it was fun, never really bagged anything, but I love the bush.

When I was just a wee lad, no more than 2 or so, I went out fishing with my dad and aunt. I was real rabble-rouser back then, and I managed to get into the tackle box and find a toy to play with: a bobber. My dad tried taking it away from me, but my aunt would have none of that. She said I should be able to have a toy if I wanted one. That being that, they turned away. Not two minutes later, I'm screaming in the boat, and they turn around and find me with the bobber hanging from my lip. I'd gotten the hook out and clamped that sucker right onto my mouth.

Turns out I (and this is a true quote) "wanted to see what the fishes felt."

There's nothing wrong with me, asshole

And I've always been a huge fan of the woods, but I've never really been hunting. Closest I've gotten is squirrels with a pellet gun. Stupid hippie parents wouldn't allow for real guns ever.

    ummm what about Lousiana french?

You'd like french canadian Culture. It's all about kicking ass and getting drunk. You should try Caribou a french canadian drink it's whiskey + maple syrup.

    OK, fishing...

When I was younger I used to go fishing a long along the river.
Anyways, at night time when you could see the starts,
I would stand on a rock and look straight up. That shit is CRAZY!

    Has anyone tried that shit?

I like fishing...but damn do I suck. I just sit on the dock of the bay...Watching the tide roll away...I just sit on the dock of the bay....Wasting time...

And yeah, the nighttime sky is pretty here on the water. But you should see it in Colorado. They have more stars there then you could ever possibly imagine. Zero light pollution.

oh man, Utah is like that too, and parts of Washington. The night sky is one of my favorite things in the world. It's amazing to gaze at what's out there.

    Light pollution really sucks :-/

I used to fish a lot when I was a kid, mainly for catfish and bream. We used to catch a lot of sunfish and pumpkinseed, but they were never worth cleaning so we mostly fished catch-and-release. However one time at a church retreat my little brothers found this old secluded pond with a lot of smallmouth bass in it. The pond must have had an excellent feeding source cause we couldn't get the smallmouth to even look at any of our bait. My brothers decided to cast in the back of the pond where there was some crap covering the surface, and they both caught these huge bream - I think they were pumpkinseed. Anyway both of them weighed over 2 pounds which is huge for that kind of fish, at least in middle tennessee. We took those back and filleted them.

and I didnt have a hook, so I crafted one out of a rock using just my swiss army pocket knife. Then I had to make string, so I used my own intestines. And for the fishing pole, I used a bunch of sticks and mud.

I'm more of a fisher then a hunter. I don't get many opportunities to go hunting. I shoot skeet when I get the chance, I was thinking about joing the local club but I don't really have that much time to dedicate to it. The first time I went skeet shooting I got 29/30, but I've only gotten worse since then.

I've been doing Canadian fishing outposts with my dad and abunch of his friends for the last 4 years or so. It basically equates to 5 days of fishing from 6-7 in the morning to 8-10 at night. All the meals are what we catch with beans, onions, potatos. It's probably too hardcore for most people, but if you enjoy catching fish than you have a good time. There's something about being miles away from civilization with no roads and no cars around, being surrounded by wilderness, that's just awesome. It's one of the last frontiers.

I've gotten a turkey , as many ducks as I've had a chance at, and LOTS of fish.
Bigest northern I've caught personally was a 39 incher. Biggest fish I've ever handled was 43", my boat partner didn't know what do with a big fish like that so I netted it, got it out of the net and dehooked it for him. It was a beast. I was so pumped to see a fish that big. We got pics, revived it in the water, and let her loose. Typically the bigger the northern the more you'll have to revive them in the water or else they just start sinking in a trance.

I've been raised hunting and fishing. Fishing since i was really little, and started hunting with my dad when i was about 11. Got my first guns about the time a 20 gauge shotgun and a winchester 30-30. Now i have a 30-06. Went hunting every year until school started picking up. Havnt been in a while now and i really miss it. We put in for the limited entrys and just go grouse hunting and hopefully get a deer/moose.

When u guys say 6 point u mean 3 tines on each side right? Cuz we just call that a 3 point and that confused me for a bit there.

Anyways i love fishing too just sitting in the boat by myself or with my dad. Havin a couple beers just trolling around the lakes.

I think its great and wish i could get out more.....
