Gizmo you gonna be in town for spring break? I'm going home this first weekend but coming back Sunday. Maybe during the week we can hit up Mackenzie and throw a little.

What is your throwing style nifos? I throw front hand/side arm style and the Xcaliber flies pretty well with that style...at least it does for me. I just don't have the arm strength/power to throw it normal back hand. I can't get a good drive that way, but when putting/mid range I throw back hand. Got any tips for guys with less strength on their back hand to improve the distance of their throw. Just wondering cause you seem like you play a lot and are pretty good lol.

I'm going out of town tomorrow and I'll be back on Wednesday. The weekend at the end of spring break I'll be free though, unless a job interview comes up. Where are you from?

A little town south of Wichita Falls, TX. About 3 hours from here. I have to work the week of spring break but I work in the morning so in the afternoons I might go hit up the course and work on my throws. Next weekend sounds good though. My roommate will be back in town and he'll go also.

Well first off I wouldn't say I'm that good haha, I do play a lot and read/talk a lot with people that are better than me.

And for throwing the XCal it's not that you don't have enough power (I've seen 12 year olds sling it), but your form is probably bad. When I first started playing I mainly did forehand because I had played baseball and could also throw it further. But like I was saying to Giz I started using slower discs, mostly midranges and a few fairway/slow drivers. I still stick to slower discs now because I can control them better and most the holes I play aren't 400'.

Heres a helpful video talking about driving:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nED7gcXobEo

And another that really slows them down:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pb7hqpMjsSg

It's all about creating lots of torque and it ripping out instead of "power arming" it. Pull the disc through your chest, get that elbow "loaded" up, then rotate your shoulders "pushing your back arm through the disc" and watch it fly. Really it's just practice.

These are what people told me at least and it's worked for me

I'm about to head out right now to get in a couple rounds before dark. I usually play 3 times a week. I can not get enough of it. I'll post a list of my gear when i get back, so enjoy this for now.

My bag: Innova Competition bag + Innova Backpack Straps

    Discs:

    Drivers
    Innova Champion Valkyrie
    Innova Champion Orc
    Discraft Stalker
    Innova Star TL
    Innova Star Orc (X-out)

    Fairway Drivers/Mid-Range
    Innova Champion Banshee
    Innova DX Whippet
    Innova DX Cheetah
    Innova Star Coyote
    Innova DX Cobra
    Innova Pro Roc
    Innova Star SL

    Putters
    Innova Aviar
    MVP Ion

Yes i have a lot of discs and i'm sure you are asking why? I have been buying and breaking in different discs with different shot shapes as well as getting different disc weights to figure out what works best for me. I've found i have the most consistency with 165-170g weighted discs. I have a use for almost every disc in my bag right now and enjoy learning each of them.

Right now i am learning to throw right hand back-hand and it is not so easy. I am a Lefty but i find that almost every course it designed in favor or a right handed player and the typical right to left shot shape. Once i have this throw down i'll be a very strong player who can throw Left & right backhand as well as right hand side arm.

Actually stuck around one more day and played this afternoon. Had my best game ever, played 18 holes and finished -1. I completely changed my grip, thanks for posting those videos nifos/adidias they helped a lot.
