I really like the pose for the elephant, he looks strong and confident. But the pose of the donkey is reading exactly the same, but the donkey has a worried expression on his face so it isn't really reading well.

I liked how you coloured it but all that white in the back is distracting. Add a background mabye?

yeah dude the white is retarded, thats just the artboard im working on, i took a screen capture. as for the background, thats exactly what i was thinking, but its just a side graphic for a newspaper article. my first time getting something printed and i dont have any guidelines/specifications for it, im hoping it doesnt look to bad scaled down and printed. i might do a background for my own benefit

that was a 2 week assignment.

As for critiques for your cartoon, well Skip already pointed out the whole white bg, definitely takes away from it all. maybe add indications of some sort of landscape surrounding it just a few lines here and there. Iceberg peaks would work imo.

And personally i kinda like that goofy look on the donkeys face, id make him even more timid and scared looking.

And that mic looks like its being hit back and forth between the two, id say make it straight down and closer to the beaver, or just take it out completely.

    Just my two cents.

alright! Finally some animation. It's from my computer class, and its the first actual character animation we did with lip sync. Sound is from Ghostbusters.Done in ToonBoom Harmony.

The other videos are larger in size, but i'm working on getting them smaller.

About 6 hours total... but thats because im still learning it. A scene like that could only take about 30 minutes to an hour(mabye even less i'm really not sure) if you really know the program.

Harmony is honestly the easiest program to use for animation. It almost like flash, but its 100x more versatile. It's constantly getting upgrades which make it better and easier to use.

just checked out your animation man, off to a pretty nice start! Syncing is one of the most annoying things to learn in animation IMO

Are you planning on working on this one further? if you are I'd love to be kept up to date on your progress man

Also, I've been following your sketches for awhile, I don't think I've ever seen you do anything but organics, have you ever tried robots or anything? I'm curious to see your take on them

    keep at it man!

It really depends what it's going to be used for. TV lip sync and Feature lip sync are very different. In TV, you follow a model sheet chart with the 6 basic mouths you'll need. Feature stuff is created all by you, using a mirror (which i'm doing now)

Thanks for the comments RHansen. That was what I handed in the for first assignment of the semester. But the way things are paced here, we don't have time to revise old assignments ( when you look back on stuff you looked at every day, you see the problems instantly )

I'll try and post my first traditional TV lip sync in a few days.

I've never really went into the "robotic" world with my drawings because I didn't really have a interest, but it won't hurt to try. The big Design assignment this year is a pan, which a ship has to fly through. We get to design the ship and the cockpit so that should be pretty interesting!

Anyways heres something fun. A drawing of a farmer I did in 2005, and the same character but this was done last night.

    Same Feet lmao.

and best of animal sketches from the nature museum.
