/\ how is that - I finished Choke a month or so ago and I really liked it.

Just finished Into the Wild, starting 1984 - I can't believe I've never read it before

Just picked this up the other day and I'm a few pages into it. Steve Martin is awesome, and it seems like it'll be a great read. However, judging from my other reading endeavors, I'll get about a third of the way in, get a new book, and forget about this one. Currently, my "in-progress" book queue is about 25-30 deep.

    Pragmatic Thinking & Learning

I don't think this type of book really goes along with the general theme of the thread, but I'm always looking for ways to improve learning speed and, more importantly, retention. The people over at the pragmatic bookshelf are certainly known for their software development texts, but I think this is a great book for anyone who loves learning in general.

    and am currently reading

Edit: On a semi-related note, Jeff Vintar will soon be (hopefully not) butchering the Foundation trilogy by turning them into movies.

I'm actually reading three books at the moment. I always have this habit of looking at other books when I'm like half way into one. World War Z, Darkly Dreaming Dexter, and Wind-Up Bird Chronicle.

Just over half way through, in-fucking-credible. The way this guy is tying this story line into other ones he's written in the past is amazing, it's an awesome book.

My buddy at school is reading Choke and said it's really good. I read 1984 in high school; it's ok. I didn't get to enjoy it because of silly due dates and shit for english class.

I just read A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man by James Joyce. Probably the best book I've read or one of the best. I'm going to read Dracula next.

Also, after the Wizard and the Glass, the rest of the series sucks.
