Because it's Red Sox/Yankees, which the rest of America gets REALLY sick of if you don't like either team, it's not the first game in a series, so it was created just for ratings, and I had to wait 24 hours to see baseball that I care about.

so basically if it wouldve been the brew crew vs. the royals you wouldnt have a problem with it? im a red sox fan, but i was just happy to be watching baseball last night no matter what teams were playing. i needed baseball to come back after such a disappointing roundball season.

you guys are looking pretty good this year. ive always had a soft spot for the m's. i dont know why, maybe its because they are just so harmless. either way, you got a hot line-up and your staff looks pretty solid. best of luck til the playoffs!

    lol @ Mariners.

That was a beast opening day, what a great game. I'm sad the Yankees lost it but it was entertaining as fuck to watch. Yankees are still gonna get that repeat

Thanks. It should be interesting. The West is going to be wild this year. And I would be less annoyed, but still pissed that some team gets opening day but I don't get to see the Ms.

I have high hopes for the Mariners. Yessir.

What I really wanna see is Halladay tear up the NL. No DH's and on the great defensive Phillies. I bet his numbers are going to be even better than they were, which is a tough thing to accomplish.

What do you mean it wasn't the first game in a series? They play games 2 and 3 on Tuesday and Wednesday.

I'm just glad that NESN got to show the game alongside ESPN. I can't even watch games on ESPN anymore unless I turn the sound off. I wish NESN would just show every game, but that's never the case since FOX and ESPN like to steal every single Red Sox vs Yankees game. ESPN likes to throw the scheduling off even more by forcing them to play at 8:05 instead of 7:05, so every damn game ends after 11:00.

The Red Sox signed Josh Beckett to a four-year extension, the team announced today. The deal, which is worth $68MM, pays Beckett a $5MM signing bonus and salaries of $15.75MM from 2011-14. The right-hander also has a clause blocking trades to three teams, two of which he can choose. After the 2011 season, Beckett should have ten and five rights which will allow him to veto any trade.
yay now they have control over Beckett, Lester, Lackey, and Buchholz through 2014.

    lol didnt see that

i did laugh pretty hard at this

Marlon Byrd belted a two-out, three-run homer in the bottom of the first in his Cubs debut. As he came back to the dugout, he was overheard saying, “Time to make a statement now.’’ And that statement apparently was the Cubs can’t play baseball very well.

Tigs were down 4-1 at the end of the 5th and had a nice rally in the 7th to come back and win 8-4.

Great way to start off the regular season!
