    I stopped doing it here because its really expensive and I dont have the spare cash. I stopped as a blue belt that I got after I placed 2nd overall in a tournament (Gi absolute division). Don't worry about your joints hurting, your elbows, shoulders, and skin will toughen up in no time. Best adivce I can give to be successful is being patient, don't try forcing submissions, and focus on the basics of movement rather than flashy moves

    I'm on a temporary hiatus from BJJ unfortunately. My stupid shoulder has popped out one too many times. I'm doing a lot of rotator cuff exercises on shoulder days to help strengthen it. Another week or 2 of those, and I plan to try again. I really miss it. This is super frustrating.

    Saw a guy 1RM 500lbs on bench today at the gym. It was nuts.

    flat bench doesn't irritate it. usually, incline doesn't either, but it was yesterday.

    Got a stripe on my white belt today! We did promotions. 1 guy went from blue to purple, 4 went from white to blue. Pretty awesome day.

    Been a long time since I last updated this. I started 5/3/1 for chest the last chest day (Sunday). Today was the 2nd day of it, and I need to find my 1RM so that I can judge the 5 and 3 rep sets appropriately. If you recall, I half-repped 235 a while ago (6 months?) back before I knew I was half-repping. Once I found out I was half-repping (thanks TGuard), I went back and basically relearned how to bench.

    Today was the magical day. I finally got 225! I fucking dominated it too. I worked my way up kinda slowly (205, 215, then 225), and I think that had I gone straight to 225, I probably could've cranked out maybe 2 or 3 reps. That bar made sweet sweet love to my chest before I drove it up. God that felt fucking great. I had one of the biggest adrenaline/endorphin rushes I've had in a long time after I got that.
