    small update training is feeling good pretty much started over with an extremely low weight and a starting strength template. still very light for anything i have done but i am mainly working on new queues and techniques feeling good probably a couple months till i am back to where i was

    also looking for some more music to listen to while lifting. started a spotify playlist so feel free to toss out some songs that get you going in the gym

    sort of wish i had access to a gym like that again but sadly i dont right now so for now i have to stick to a more simplistic template. once i am confident in my back again i'll probably do something like 10/20/life so i have more recovery time. all in all feeling good i tood 315 for a ride on squats today for 3x3 with no pain and it felt light so progress is slow but steady

    last program i followed was cube and that was for almost a year and a half minus a month to do some rehab/prehab. then i got hurt? right now i am doing a linear periodization so thats obviously not sustainable

    Gonna do a junior smolov for 3 weeks and see how it goes. I tried doing one back in the day at a crossfit gym when I was a weak little bitch. The volume is gonna fucking kill. @Tguard50 any recommendations? Last time my quads were like majorly fucked up because I think I didn't hydrate throughout the week well enough. Only gonna do it for squats and bench

    your quads are majorly fucked up because you suck at squatting and you aren't using your hamstrings. if your legs are too sore from smolov, lower your max. you shouldn't be using your actual max as your training max anyways.

    no reason to smolov if you aren't squatting 2x bodyweight. not sure how much you weigh though.

    Smolov gains aren't typically permanent unless you keep the volume up (which is impossible). You'll take 2 steps forward and 1.5 steps back. plus you will make your joints hate you. i will never do it again.

    why not do some programming that has you squat 2x a week? that is sustainable and in my experience what has always worked for my squat.

    how is everyone's lifting going?

    just tripled 495 on squats. the gainz come slowly these days. I can't really bench press anymore with a fucked shoulder(s). Been a couple years since I've benched with a barbell with anything over 300 lbs.

    I herniated a disc in my lower back about a month ago (moving, of all things!). I definitely don't recommend it. I'm only doing really light deads and squats right now (no more than 1 plate). It'll be another couple weeks before I can get back to real weight.

    I'm improving on bench pretty fast, though! Set a new 5x5 PR at 230 last week. Going for 235 this next week. I'm doing long paused doubles in the 250 range.
