For the first time tonight, I heard my 1933 45 Flathead run.

    Shit gave me chills.

Love the vintage engines. My grandfather has a collection of old 20-40s British motorcycles he restores. It was his retirement busy work.

Buell what? I'm guessing XB12S. I can't bring myself to sell mine. Mine just rolled 15K.

Went to a local bike fest this past weekend. Pretty much same as last year. 4 different fest locations with events going on at each. Not too bad and a better turn out from the Sportbike riders. My friend's Aprilia received all the love being no one sees them here (not that they see mine either lol)

I was just thinking of making some sort of cool looking GPS speedo wrist mount thing that wouldn't ruin the look of the bike with mounts, etc. It could have other functions, but I'm just gauging interest right now since I had the idea the other day.

I realize its easy to gauge speed with traffic, but I know in my Project vehicle when I'm by myself and not paying exact attention to revs I can lose track, which can be bad for speed traps.

Could just be a dumb idea and have zero interest though.

Looks like a standard and not an S. My 1000S had partial fairings. I did enjoy riding my 1000S. Was a all around great bike.

The title says SV650S. Maybe I'm just mistaken though. Either way, it's a fun ride, and can really haul ass if you ask it too.

Mine was my first entry level street bike.. Very comfortable and a lot of options to customize.

    My old SV1000S

Great choice with the SV! I get comments on mine all the time. It's a blast to ride (just rode about 100mi today on it!)

looking at buying my first motorcycle. Not an experienced rider. looking for advice. I have one in mind, a 1989 honda NX650 for $2499. Is this a reliable bike? The year worries me. Is this a good price? Any comments greatly appreciated!

Are you looking for that style bike? Not too sure of the maintenance of this type. Here is one (I based it off the location of the ad)

Not too fond of the rear being raised:

Just two being I am not too sure of your style. The SV line is very reliable, cheap on insurance, and there is a huge following on another forum which they always have an answer it seems.

I like those style bikes! I dont want a crotch rocket bc of my lack of experience. Those Suzukis are pretty sick! Would that be comfortable for highway driving? I am planning on riding to Pittsburgh a few times and it is straight highway (100 miles one way).

I am looking at a that style and also the Dual Sports.

It's more of an upright position than a sports bike posture. Your feet are more or less below you. I put a lot of miles on my bikes and I put a lot of highway miles on my SV1000S.

I want a bike so bad, but I'm too afraid

I lost one of my best friends to a bike and another is a paraplegic

Honestly I don't think I know anyone that has had a bike that has sustained some kind of injury.

I haven't had a motorcycle accident as of yet. My mentality is I'll ride even if a friend has had an accident. I don't know their circumstances at the time of the accident. Plus I know people who have died behind the wheel of their car, should I stop driving?

got done with the 1st of 2 riding sessions... can't count how many times I've stalled by letting out the clutch too fast. But once I got going it was manageable. The 'look where you want to go' really helped me in the turns.

The one thing I absolutely blew it on was the swerving between the cones, I just could not get it, and if I did I couldn't control it (like I could go left and right but not with the cones)

It was a little discouraging to see a bunch of the riders in my class (who already ride and is only taking the course to get their license because they couldn't pass the state test on their own, larger and faster bikes) fly through everything so effortlessly
