Haven't any of you guys ever seen Felon?

The old man may be old, but following someone outside your house when danger no longer exists isn't going to help him any. It sucks because we feel pity for the old man, but the fact is he pursued someone and shot them when he was no longer in danger.

I hate to say it but he's likely to get arrested for manslaughter charges at the least.

    I followed this whole development

They're not seeking charges against him

I can almost guarantee that regardless of what the DA statement said, it's due to his age.

No DA wants to press charges against "Innocent 80 year old man that just got beat and was protecting himself"

It'd cost more than it's worth, not only for the trial, but 80 year old getting sent to jail for 5 years? Ha! It'd cost the state a fortune for a case that the large portion of the public wouldn't support.

The investigation did take them 5 months to decide not to go after charges though.

The prosecution also offered up more details about that night. They say that Adams' mother Ruby Adams and a child blocked Greer's front door, trapping him inside. And they say that after Greer shot Miller he dragged her body into his garage to lure Gus Adams. Adams did return but he stole Greer's gun and cell phone before making an escape with his mother.

Gus Adams was charged with murder, first-degree residential robbery, first-degree residential burglary, grand theft firearm and possession of a firearm by a felon. He also was charged with inflicting great bodily injury and elder abuse in the commission of the crime. Ruby Adams was charged with first-degree residential burglary and first-degree robbery, along with an allegation of elder abuse. Both are awaiting a preliminary hearing set for February 3.

Of course, the DA isn't going to say "We're not going to press charges because the dudes a fucking 80 year old victim" but I don't buy that he was well within his rights to shoot someone in the back as they beg for their life lmao

Whaddya know, he didn't shoot her in the back.

    Case closed, O'Malley.

    Good for him.

City News Service reports that prosecutors determined that Greer, who shot Miller once in the knee and once in the chest, was acting well within his rights.

Doesn't mean he didn't shoot her as she was retreating

Other reports put it more specifically in the side of her chest.

Not to mention if he knee shotted her first and fired again as she was falling with a twist to her body.

Really guys? When can people stand up to crime? She could have stolen something of his, doesn't he have the right to his property? You guys seem to forget she was a burglar. Don't break the law, don't get shot. Easy.

This 80 year old man had his home broken into, he was physically assaulted and presumably stolen from. So what if they were fleeing? Give that old man a medal for cleaning up some street trash.

Also, the mother of the "pregnant" burglar was involved too? The apple doesn't roll far from the pile of shit, does it?
